Ivory-billed Woodpecker Painting

The Ivory-billed Woodpecker (Campephilus principalis) was the largest woodpecker in North America. It was recently removed from the Endangered Species List because, sadly, it is now considered extinct.

This original painting is by Craig Williams, a talented artist in Tasmania, Australia.

Craig and Ivan teamed up to bring you this piece, which was created specially for Episode 39 of The Science of Birds podcast.
